Jamie Oliver set to open Jamie's Italian in Russia
Jamie Oliver is taking his high-street Italian restaurant chain Jamie's Italian to Russia, with the opening of two restaurants in Moscow and St Petersburg next year.
Oliver, who currently operates Jamie's Italian sites in the UK, Ireland, Dubai, Australia and Singapore, has teamed up with Russian restaurant operator Ginza Projects to launch Jamie's Italian Russia.
Oliver said: "I am incredibly excited about taking Jamie's Italian to Russia and Ginza are fantastic partners. It's great to be able to find and work with such an ambitious and creative company who are also great operators.
"The sites we've got in Moscow and St Petersburg are in brilliant locations, and the buildings themselves are absolutely stunning. I'm delighted to able to bring the Jamie's Italian experience to the people of Russia."
Owner and co-founder of Ginza, Vadim Lapin, added: "So many people have asked me if I thought Jamie Oliver might ever choose to open a restaurant in Russia as he has so many fans here. He is a very charismatic and inspiring chef and Jamie's Italian is a very new and fresh vision of an Italian restaurant. We are very excited about our plans for the future."
