Jamie's Italian teams up with Kimbo and launches a new Italian coffee menu

Jamie's Italian has signed a new partnership with Italian coffee brand Kimbo to launch a bespoke Italian coffee menu across all 43 UK outlets.

Kimbo worked closely with Jamie Oliver on the logistics of the deal, testing beans, roasting practices and logistics before rolling out new San Remo and Cimbali equipment, tailored crockery and a training schedule to over 600 waiting staff and barista employees.

Angus McKenzie, managing director of Kimbo UK, said: "It has been a pleasure working with all the staff during the roll-out; they are all so enthusiastic and driven by a passion for ingredients and quality.

The new coffee menu includes a wide selection of coffees, including the original Neapolitan espresso, macchiato, cappuccino, latte, caffè corretto (with amaretto and cream), caffè arocchino (with chocolate and frothy milk) and caffè sheckerato (fresh espresso shaken up with ice and sugar syrup).

aola Rubino, chairman of Kimbo, said "This is an exciting opportunity to promote the culture of Neapolitan espresso in the UK through the renowned Jamie's Italian restaurants and we look forward to a long and successful collaboration."

The coffee menu will also be available at the new Jamie's Italian site opening on Victoria Street (near the Z building) in London with a delicatessen incorporating outside seating and an upstairs al fresco area plus four sites at Gatwick airport.

Kimbo started out in Naples as Caffè Kimbo where a small roasting plant was set up for the sale of roasted coffee to coffee bars and coffee shops. Since 1994 Caffé Kimbo has held second place on the Italian retail market for packaged coffee and today is present in over 40 countries across the world.
