Jason Atherton to cook at pop-up restaurant at London Restaurant Festival
Former Maze executive chef Jason Atherton is to cook at a pop-up restaurant as part of next month's London Restaurant Festival.
Ahead of the opening next year of his first solo project since leaving Gordon Ramsay Holdings - Pollen Street Social - the chef will be heading the kitchen at a makeshift site on Binney Street, just off Oxford Street.
Atherton, who will be cooking on 4 and 5 October, will produce a menu that provides a taste of things to come at his new restaurant, which is due to open in London's Mayfair.
On the menu will be dishes such as Orkney langoustine, lemon peel purée, oyster leaf and brandy head dressing and 35-day-aged Speyside beef fillet and braised cheek with organic carrots, garlic snails and creamed Lincolnshire potatoes
Atherton said: "As I am not opening my new restaurant until January 2011 I really want to use my time to put something back into London and so I had this idea to do a pop-up restaurant I'm really excited about it."
Only 40 places will be available at the pop-up restaurant each night, with demand expected to be high. Visit the London Restaurant Festival website for more details.
