Just be sure it's spelt right

Congratulations to all the various recipients of Cateys this year. But I do hope that the menus given to the judges by the Menu of the Year winner (the Albion, Clifton, Bristol) was better than the sample menu on its website.

The poor grammar, spelling and overuse of punctuation marks found there are unfortunately indicative of the lack of respect shown for the English language nowadays.

Or am I perhaps missing the point here?

Adrian Walton, by e-mail

Ed: The menus our judges pored over were, thank goodness, grammatically sound and typo-free - as they were when we visited the Albion for its Menuwatch. However, we have passed on your comments, so we hope this blip will soon be corrected.
