Kencancook restaurant relocates to Walberton in West Sussex

West Sussex restaurateurs Ken and Annabelle Brown have transplanted their successful Kencancook restaurant from Appledram to Walberton after snapping up Oaks Restaurant.

The sale of the freehold for around the asking price of £650,000 was handled by the Winchester office of Christie & Co on behalf of Chris Connor, who has owned Oaks restaurant since June 2004.

The property, which is located just off the A27 two miles from Arundel, has 64 seats and four letting bedrooms.

Cockney-born New Zealand chef Ken has built up a strong following in the county for his traditional Sussex cooking married to a modern approach. Kencancook started life at the Cider House in Appledram, near Chichester, in a building that has changed use over the years from pigsty to tearoom to cider bar.
