Kevin Bacon made non-executive director at Thai Leisure Group

Kevin Bacon has been appointed to the board of the Thai Leisure Group (TLG) as non-executive director.

Bacon was most recently managing director at Jamie Oliver International where he oversaw expansion into the Middle East, Australia, Asia and America.

Prior to that he was main board director of The Restaurant Group PLC where he managed more than 300 restaurants and expanded restaurant chain Frankie & Benny's to 180 sites.

Bacon said: "I'm delighted to be joining Thai Leisure Group at a very exciting time for them with ambitious plans for next year, and am looking forward to helping them develop the business across the UK."

The group plans to open six new sites in the new year and seven sites in 2016.

Martin Stead, co-owner of TLG, said: "This really is an exciting time for Thai Leisure Group. Kevin's appointment comes on the verge of a significant multi-million pound investment."

TLG is a group of restaurants and bars co-owned by Martin Stead and chef director Kim Kaewraikhot. Founded in Leeds in 2004, the group owns and operates Chaophraya which has 11 locations in the north of England and Scotland including Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester.
