Krispy Kreme to double the number of UK stores

Doughnut chain Krispy Kreme is set to double the number of its UK stores to nearly 100 by 2016.

The company currently has 47 sites and a presence in 200 Tesco stores. It is set to open 10 new sites a year over the next five years.

The news comes on the back of a 1.4% increase in like-for-like sales and total sales of £33.4m, compared with £29.7m the previous year.

Krispy Kreme first came to the UK in October 2003 through a concession in Harrods department store.
