Las Iguanas rolls out takeaway menu across six sites
Latin-American-themed restaurant chain Las Iguanas is trialling a food-to-go menu across six of its 22 sites.
The Street Food to Go menu has been available for a week at branches in Brighton, Bristol Clifton, Bristol Harbourside, Manchester Deansgate, Milton Keynes and Old Spitalfields Market.
A selection of freshly-prepared burritos, salads, tapas dishes, desserts and hot and cold drinks can be ordered over the phone or in person at the restaurant bars between 12 noon and 6.30pm.
Dominika Sawicka, assistant manager of Las Iguanas in Milton Keynes, said the restaurant had been receiving enquiries from customers about take away food before the menu was launched.
"It's a great menu and the burritos are definitely the most popular. It's early days and there is more marketing to do but we're getting many orders and we had a lot of enquiries before we even started," she said.
The Street Food to Go menu is being promoted on the Las Iguanas website, menus and table cards.
Last month Caterer revealed that Las Iguanas founder and director Ajith Jaya Wickrema had left the company after nearly two decades at its helm.
His co-partner managing director Erin Ali, the 2009 Group Restaurateur Catey winner, continues to run the business with Wagamama chairman Ian Neill remaining non-executive chairman.
