L'Atelier's Jeremy Page and team to open new ‘evolved' Robuchon concept

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Covent Garden's executive chef Jeremy Page and his team will launch a ‘new evolved concept' under the French legend's name later this year, the restaurant group has confirmed.

The move is part of the wishes of legendary French chef Joel Robuchon, who died last year aged 73 with a portfolio of 13 restaurants and 24 Michelin stars.

A spokesman for the restaurant group was unable to confirm what the Covent Garden team would be doing in the meantime.

He added: "After a successful decade in Covent Garden, L'Atelier of Joël Robuchon restaurant closed on April 14th 2019. Fulfilling Joël Robuchon's wish, Michelin starred executive chef Jeremy Page and his team will be moving to Mayfair to open a new, evolved Joël Robuchon concept later this year. Further details of this new project will be announced soon."

Established in 2006, L'Atelier closed abruptly on April 14th - announcing the end of the one-starred restaurant just days before it shut up shop. At the time Bloomberg's Richard Vines reported that sources had claimed a new offering - a Comptoir Joel Robuchon - would launch in Mayfair, although this remains unconfirmed.
