L'Autre Pied owner David Moore laptop snatched outside his own restaurant

Michelin-starred restaurateur David Moore has become a victim of a laptop snatch as he dined outside one of his own restaurants.

Moore was having lunch with a colleague outside L'Autre Pied, Marylebone, when a man grabbed the computer from the table. The two men gave chase almost instantly but the thief fled with an accomplice waiting on a nearby scooter, reported the http://www.catererandhotelkeeper.co.uk/articles/16/11/2010/335927/couple-arrested-after-l-autre-pied-falls-victim-to-cigarette-scam.htm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Evening Standard](http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/warning-to-al-fresco-diners-as-cctv-shows-speed-of-laptop-theft-8610699.html).

The restaurateur, who also owns Pied A Terre in Fitzrovia, said: "We were having coffee when this guy walks past and grabbed the laptop off the table. He was as cool as a cucumber.

"He ran off to an accomplice who was awaiting near-by on a scooter and they sped off. It was all over in a few seconds. We both reacted very quickly and ran after him but he was too quick."

It is not the first time that L'Autre Pied has fallen victim to crime. In 2010, a couple racked up a dinner bill of £572, which included two bottles of Champagne. Before eating their desserts, the pair asked for their coats to go outside for a cigarette but never returned. They were arrested a week later.
