Leon launches parent-friendly recruitment policy
Leon has launched an initiative to hire flexible employees having introduced ‘parents shifts' that can fit around family life.
The fast food chain has joined national campaign Hire Me My Way which has been established to increase the numbers of flexible roles in the UK.
It said that it will now make it clear to potential employees that it is happy to discuss flexible working arrangements to enables new starts to better balance family life.
In the past year Leon has hired a director of marketing, head of communications and senior food developer on part-time hours.
People director Marco Reick said: "At Leon we have one simple goal: to help everyone to eat well and live well. We know that there are lots of reasons why people want to work flexibly. Some are parents or carers, others are pursuing their passions. Helping our people balance work and home keeps them well. And that makes us happy."
According to the Hire Me My Way campaign 54% of the UK's workforce already has some form of flexibility in their role, but only 8.7% of jobs paid £20,000 or more are advertised with part-time or flexible options.
