Leon opens first site outside UK
Healthy fast food store Leon opened its first store outside the UK in Schiphol Airport Plaza, Amsterdam on Sunday 3 July.
Operated by HMS Host, Leon has launched the new restaurant in Amsterdam with the aim of becoming an international business, revolutionising the future of fast food.
Leon co-founder and CEO John Vincent said: "Amsterdam, we're on our way. I spent most of my childhood holidays in Holland so I'm very happy to be going back and reliving those happy memories. The Dutch are almost as funny as the English so we'll have to keep our jokes as fresh as our food."
Inventors of the ‘Superfood Salad' the Leon Schiphol menu will take diners back to 2004, when the first Leon store opened, serving their classic dishes such as the Moroccan Meatball Hotbox, signature Fish Finger Wrap and Original Superfood Salad.
Bringing their UK mantra to Europe, all ingredients used in Leon Schiphol will be sourced in the Netherlands, except for the Spanish Chorizo. Free-range eggs, high welfare meat and organic milk will also be used within the restaurant.
The Leon Schiphol site aims to give travellers and workers a healthy option on the go. Leon has 37 stores around the UK and plan to expand during 2016.
