Little Chef denies it is in trouble

Little Chef has denied allegations in yesterday's Sunday Times that it is in financial trouble and seeking a rescue package.

The 235-strong roadside chain admitted it was in "sensitive negotiations" with an investment partner but said this was due to the ill-health of co-owner Lawrence Wosskow.

The Sunday Times said the company was "cash-strapped" and struggling financially and other industry observers have questioned the viability of its current food offer.
