Little Chef to move headquarters from Sheffield to Norfolk
Roadside restaurant group Little Chef is to move its headquarters from Sheffield to Diss in Norfolk, with the loss of around 20 jobs.
The company said it would outsource a number of current staff roles as part of the move, according to the BBC.
The move comes after the business decided to close 67 of its 161 restaurants in January, resulting in 600 job cuts.
A consultation with staff at the Sheffield headquarters has begun. A company statement issued last week said: "Today's redundancies were already included in Little Chef's estimate of redundancies made when it announced its full restructuring plan in January.
"Although it is not possible to say definitively until the head office consultation has been completed, we currently estimate that the total number of redundancies at Little Chef's head office will be less than 20.
"The head office move and operational reorganisation will have a positive effect on the restaurants with upgraded IT marketing, site support and back office systems."
The group, which went into administration in 2007, is currently owned by private investment business RCapital.
