Living Ventures boss Tim Bacon to open new Manchester restaurant
Tim Bacon, chief executive of the Living Ventures Group - the company behind Manchester venues Grill on the Alley, Gusto, and the Alchemist - will be opening a new restaurant in the city this month.
Australasia is located in Spinningfields Square, Deansgate. It will have a late-night licence until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays, with a signature cocktail list and guest DJs.
Former young Australian chef of the year Paul Greening will be running the kitchen. His menu will be influenced by Australian, European, Indonesian and South-east Asian cuisine.
Bacon, who was raised in Australia, created the interior with a team of designers: Trevor Johnson, Ed Picket and Michelle Derbyshire. He explained: "I'm aiming at a bit of cool, downtown Sydney, down under in Manchester!"
