Living Ventures leads hospitality growth

08 December 2005

Restaurant and bar operator Living Ventures ranks 34th among the UK's fastest-growing companies, higher than any other hospitality company, according to a Sunday Times top 100 report.

The list ranks UK-based companies according to increases in sales figures and staffing levels between 2001 and 2004.

Sales at the 35-strong Living Ventures group jumped from £2.47m in 2001 to £19.55m last year, which represents annual growth of 99.25%.

The rankings also place Warwickshire-based contract caterer Unique Catering at number 43. The company saw its sales rocket by 90.6% per year over the three-year period, growing from £777,000 to £5.4m.

At number 54 is Gordon Ramsay Holdings, where sales grew from £4.95m to £30.95m. Carluccio's was placed 74th, thanks to sales figures that rose by 66.3% per year to £27.8m. However, it slipped from its position of 48th in the same list last year.

Other representatives of the food and drink industry were coffee machine operator Coffee Nation (13th) and award-winning smoothie-maker Innocent (21st).
