Local buyer for Yeovil restaurant

A local operator has snapped up Edwards restaurant in the centre of the Somerset market town of Yeovil.

The character period corner property is located within a pedestrianised shopping area opposite the town market.

The trading areas on the ground and first floors can seat up to 80 diners while the second floor is used as one-bedroom owners' accommodation.

Edwards, which was sub-leased from PizzaExpress, has been trading as a café by day and as a restaurant in the evenings.

New owner Mark Yarde, who has been working in the local bar market, intends to extend the opening hours and make the business more wet-led.

The Bristol office of Christie + Co sold the free-of-tie lease off a guide price of £79,950 on behalf of Gill Edwards.
