Local buyers for ex-England cricketer's Cornish beach café

Former Yorkshire and England all-rounder Chris Old and his wife Letitia Rivett-Old have sold the beachside café in West Cornwall that they have run since 1998.

Their Clipper restaurant, at Praa Sands near Helston, has been bought by local operators Brad Thethewey and his wife, who formerly ran the Tyringham Arms near St Ives.

The purchase covered the 48-seat restaurant with 50 further seats outside for alfresco dining, a fish and chip takeaway and a substantial two-bedroom owners' bungalow.

The Exeter office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £375,000.
