Man charged over blaze at Liverpool curry house

A man has been charged with arson with the intent to endanger life, following a fire at a Liverpool restaurant.

The blaze at the Spice City Balti House on Stanley Street began at the back of the premises on Saturday morning before quickly spreading through the four-storey building.

Fire crews rescued four people, including one man, aged 32, who was admitted to hospital suffering serious effects of smoke inhalation.

Merseyside Police said Alan Michael Cashman was due to appear before Liverpool Magistrates' Court, according to the Liverpool Daily Post](

Detectives are still seeking witnesses who may be able to aid their investigation.
