Management team of Bell at Fetcham to run Hampshire pub

The managers of the successful Surrey pub, the Bell at Fetcham, are set to take over the management of the Cricketers, in Hartley Witney, Hampshire.

Mark and Penny Thornhill have managed the Bell since 9 November 2009 and left on 18 January 2013.

They will start work at the Cricketers on 22 February. Mark Thornhill will take up the role of general manager at the pub, operated by the New Pub Co, while Penny will be deputy manager and their daughter Amelia will be assistant manager.

Amelia has previously been employed by Marco Pierre White and Gordon Ramsay and won the Virgin Limited Edition Rising Star Award in Hospitality 2012. She was also a regional finalist for the Gold Service Scholarship (supported by the Academy of Culinary Arts and The Academy of Food and Wine Service).

Meanwhile Mark and Penny Thornhill won several accolades at the Bell at Fetcham, a Young's pub, where they were nominated for ‘Team of the Year' with Eat Out Magazine and Mark was nominated ‘Pub Personality of the Year' by Imbibe Magazine 2013. The pub also featured in the Good Food Guide 2013, the AA Pub Guide 2013, and the Michelin Eating Out in Pubs guide.

The pair said of their latest move: "It truly is a privilege to be selected and included in these guides and we will be bringing the same, if not higher service and culinary experiences to our new customers and neighbours at the Cricketers, Hartley Wintney."
