Marco Pierre White takes over Talbot Inn

Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has taken over the Talbot Inn in Surrey.

The former three-Michelin-starred chef and star of Hell's Kitchen has taken over the property from Bespoke Hotels, which acquired it two years ago from Merchant Inns after it collapsed into administration.

The deal marks the latest in a number of Bespoke Hotels-owned properties White has taken over, including the Carnarvon Arms in Berkshire.

Talbot Inn general manager Paul Dixon told local newspaper Get Surrey White would play a hands-on role in the running of the property.

"Marco is going to be very involved," he said. "Investment is likely within three to four months, in line with what he has done at his other properties."
