Mayfair chef found guilty of sexual harrassment

A London waitress has this week been awarded £124,000 after suffering consistent sexual harassment from a well-known Italian chef.

Reports in the London Evening Standard reveal the chef, who cooks at a member's club in Mayfair but could not be named for legal reasons, repeatedly interrogated the waitress "in crude sexual terms" about her sexual experiences and her current partners.

The 26-year-old waitress was also physically intimidated by the chef who is more than 20 years her senior.

Media reports claim the chef has cooked for stars including Madonna, Hugh Grant and Sir Elton John.

Tribunal chairman Gordon Etherington said: "The tribunal is satisfied that the atmosphere in the kitchen was heavy with sexual overtones and that the chef was a bullying his general approach to the staff; that all feared to cross him and he brought that same bullying and arrogant approach in seeking to establish a sexual relationship with the climant."
