Meat Liquor's Mayfair restaurant to make way for hotel

Meat Liquor has announced that it will close its original Mayfair restaurant in February, making way for a 206-bedroom hotel.

The burger group had originally moved into its Welbeck Street site for two years, but has remained for seven.

The brand had started operating out of a burger van in a Peckham industrial estate carpark back in 2008, opening its first restaurant in 2011. It has since grown to 12 sites.

Plans for the nine-storey hotel due to be built on the site were submitted by developer DP9 on behalf of Marylebone Lane LP. The property will be operated by Shiva Hotels.
