Michael Caines mulls Middle East opening

Two Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines is mulling a potential restaurant opening in the Middle East.

Caines, who was awarded an MBE in 2006 for services to the hospitality industry in the UK, told Caterer Middle East he was thinking about Abu Dhabi or Dubai as potential opportunities.

Speaking ahead of Gourmet Abu Dhabi, Caines, he said: "I've made some great contacts here, and I think they would be worth pursuing to see if there's an opportunity to open a restaurant here in Abu Dhabi."

Caines is F&B director for Brownsword Hotels and also head chef at Gidleigh Park in Devon, where he has held two Michelin stars for 14 years despite losing his right arm in a car accident.
