Michael Caines rallies support for latest HA fundraising initiative

Gidleigh Park executive chef Michael Caines has called on restaurants throughout England to back a new fundraising scheme for industry charity Hospitality Action (HA), of which he is a patron.

The charity is looking for a wide network of restaurants to encourage diners to add a discretionary £1 to their bill for one week between 14 May and 20 May for HA Fundraising Week.

In a letter to colleagues across the industry, Caines said: "As a patron of Hospitality Action, I would like to highlight how important the work of the charity is in offering vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within hospitality in the UK and find themselves in crisis. With ever-increasing pleas for help, it is more important than ever that we raise even more money this year - only with your help will this be possible."
