Michelin reveals new Bib Gourmand awards for 2019 guide

Michelin has revealed the new Bib Gourmand award winners for its 2019 guide - with 27 new additions and 28 deletions.

Bib Gourmands recognise pubs and restaurants offering exceptionally good food at moderate prices, and hold a coveted place for many high quality restaurants with affordable offerings.

The total number now stands at 143, with new entrants in regions across the UK including four in London (Petit Pois, Hoxton; Kudu, Peckham; Farang, Higbury; Sorella, Clapham), two in Scotland (Monadh Kitchen, Glasgow; Sugar Boat, Helensburgh) and one for Wales (Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias).

Removals include Islington's Drapers Arms, Bristol's No Man's Grace and The Gannet in Glasgow.

Rebecca Burr, director of the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland, said: "Prices and value for money are important, but the Bib Gourmand is about much more; it's about the ethos and philosophy of a restaurant.

"The Michelin Inspectors love finding new Bib Gourmands and they're always hugely popular with our readers."

Michelin stars will be announced on Monday at a ceremony in London. Stay tuned to for live updates as the results are revealed.
