Michelin-starred chef Bloomfield to open third restaurant in New York

British-born chef April Bloomfield is set to open her third restaurant in New York as part of a boutique hotel development.

Bloomfield, who co-owns the Michelin-starred Spotted Pig and the John Dory in New York City's Meatpacking District with Ken Friedman and Mario Batali, is now planning on opening a third restaurant inside Ace Hotel's new site in New York.

The Breslin Bar & Dining Restaurant will be housed inside the 240-room Breslin hotel and will be overseen by executive chef Bloomfield, along with co-owner Ken Friedman when it opens in August.

The ground-floor restaurant will have curtained booths and a vintage, charred-oak floor and will specialize in meat, including trotters, ears, and heads.

Bloomfield said the menu would feature rib roasts, racks of veal, lots of potted meat and terrines.

The US-based Ace Hotel group currently operates three properties in Portland, Seattle and Palm Springs.

The John Dory received a rave five-star review from The Times's food critic AA Gill earlier this year.
