Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton to open second London restaurant
Pollen Street Social chef-proprietor and 2012 Catey Chef Award winner Jason Atherton has taken possession of a site on Poland Street, Soho, where he plans to open a new restaurant with a bar called the Social Eating House next March.
The restaurant, in partnership with his long-standing head chef Paul Hood, will be located located at 58-59 Poland Street, and comprises a ground, first and mezzanine floors.
The deal was brokered by Dean Gambles of commercial property agents Coleman Dean, who also acquired the site for Jason's flagship restaurant Pollen Street Social, which opened in April 2011.
"I am really excited to be going into partnership with Paul Hood who has worked with me for over six years and is one of the most talented chefs I have ever come across," commented Atherton.
In addition to Pollen Street Social in London, Atherton runs two restaurants in Singapore: L'esquina (meaning "the corner"), a 15-cover "gastro tapas bar" housed in a former Chinese launderette in Chinatown, and Pollen, situated in the Gardens by the Bay South in Singapore's new downtown. He also runs Table No 1 in Shanghai, and consults to Restaurant Associates and Hong Kong Airlines.
