Mitch Tonks opens fish and chip shop in Dartmouth
Chef-restaurateur and seafood aficionado Mitch Tonks has opened a fish and chip shop in Dartmouth.
Tonks, who together with business partner Mat Prowse opened the RockFish Seafood & Chips restaurant in the Devon town last year, has opened the new outlet to address the overwhelming demand for takeaways at the restaurant.
"We have been overwhelmed by the positive response to RockFish since opening last year, by visitors and locals alike; it really has been terrific," Tonks said.
"This is an addition to what we already do and it seems to make sense to split the takeaway operation from the main restaurant so that those wanting to enjoy eating the best fish and chips outdoors can do so with ease."
The RockFish takeaway outlet opened last week on Dartmouth's Lower Street opposite the lower ferry. It serves a menu including fish and chips as well as local fish of the day, squid and salad as well as a burger made from Devon beef.
Next to RockFish Tonks, co-founder of FishWorks, also runs the Seahorse in Dartmouth, which opened as his flagship restaurant in 2008. He also runs the RockFish Grill in Bristol.
