Mitsuhiro Araki to leave three-Michelin-starred London restaurant in March

Mitsuhiro Araki, head chef and sushi master of three-Michelin-starred London restaurant the Araki, will leave the restaurant in March.

Speaking to The Caterer, the restaurant confirmed the chef's departure from the 10-seat site - which picked up its three stars in last year's guide. He is expected to return to Japan.

Only three restaurants in London currently hold the coveted top award from Michelin - the other two being Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay.

The chef is expected to hand over the reins to Marty Ryu, his second in command. Mitsuhiro initially held three stars at his restaurant in Ginza, Tokyo, but closed it down to start again in London.
