Monty's Deli to close Hoxton flagship by end of July

Revered London sandwich shop Monty's Deli will close its only bricks-and-mortar site in London's Hoxton at the end of the month.

A statement posted to the restaurant's Twitter account read: "We are truly sorry to announce we are leaving Hoxton street at the end of July and our last day of trading there will be Sunday 28th."

A statement posted to Instagram added the brand had "exciting projects for the summer that are in the works" and are due to be announced soon

Alongside the brand's trademark Reuben sandwiches and latkes, the restaurant on 227-229 Hoxton Street was home to a twice-weekly Shabbat dinner menu serving chopped liver, chicken matzo ball soup and whole roast chicken - an offer not currently available at other Monty's sites.
