Moro and Morito founders launch catering company and event space

Moro and Morito founders Sam and Sam Clark have launched a bespoke outside catering company, Casa Moro, and announced plans for a private dining room in Hackney Wick to open in May.

Casa Moro will offer their restaurants' Spanish, Middle Eastern and Cretan concoctions, cooked by Morito head chef Marianna Leivaditaki and her brigade. The menu will range from tapas to formal banqueting and encompass everything from family celebrations to corporate functions and festivals.

The Clarks are also launching a private dining room space in Hackney Wick, East London, overlooking the River Lea and Queen Elizabeth Park, to cater for up to 40-50 diners or 60-75 guests for a drinks reception. The interior has been created by Danish designer Nina Tolstrup of Studiomama with the emphasis on clean lines, natural materials and a neutral palette.

The Clarks plan to host a selection of one-off ticketed events at the new Hackney Wick venue, kicking off with "an exclusive Moro Mangal dinner party" hosted by the couple alongside Leivaditaki on Friday 1 June and Saturday 2 June. Drinks will be served on the outdoor terrace whilst Casa Moro prepare the food over the open fire, followed by a sit down meal indoors.
