Mourad Mazouz to expand Momo restaurant concept to Lebanon
Acclaimed London restaurateur Mourad Mazouz, co-owner of the Michelin-starred Sketch and founder of Momo, is expanding the North African restaurant concept to Lebanon.
The Algerian-born restaurateur, who also owns Derriere, Restaurant 404 and Andy Wahloo in Paris, will open Momo Souk in Beirut in June.
The 200-cover brasserie, which will be located in the city centre, will serve an all-day menu of a mixture of classic French, North African and Lebanese dishes. It will also include a Mo café/bar serving drinks and snacks.
The Beirut restaurant will be Mazouz's second Momo outlet outside of London after Almaz by Momo in Dubai.
Separately, Mazouz has appointed a new head chef at Momo London.
David Jones, who headed up Momo at Selfridges until 2005, has taken over the reins at the Heddon Street-based restaurant.
Previously, Jones relaunched Caprice Holdings' Pasha and also ran Mazouz's pop-up restaurant the Double Club, which operated in north London for eight months until last July.
