M&S opens full-service restaurant

Geordie ladies who lunch will soon be able to eat and shop under one roof with the launch of Marks & Spencer's (M&S) first full-service restaurant.

The restaurant will be in addition to a Café Revive, M&S's in-store café concept, an eat-in deli counter, a Hot-Food-to-Go concept, and an enlarged bakery, including a pâtisserie counter.

The restaurant, which will have about 100 seats, is scheduled to open in spring next year and is likely to be a trial for a potential roll-out. It is expected to offer a high standard of dining with an on-site chef.

A statement from the food and clothing chain said: "The new restaurant will feature M&S food, including shellfish platter, the perfect steak and chips and melt in the middle pudding."
