Nando's wins training award

Nando's, the 110-strong chain of chicken restaurants, has scooped two accolades in the National Training Awards programme for the second year in a row.

Its coaching skills programme, which helps managers develop the skills needed for the position, won a national training award, making Nando's the only restaurant group to do so this round.

Also recognised was Nando's opening training programme, which is put into use when new restaurants open, with a Greater London regional training award.

Fast food giant McDonalds was also highly commended by the National Training Awards judges.

Red Carnation Hotels, which operates seven hotels in the capital, picked up a Greater London regional training award as well.
