Nicola Pegues joins Bleecker Burger as head of operations as group eyes new sites

Nicola Pegues has joined Bleecker Burger as head of operations as the three-site strong group eyes expansion in 2019.

Pegues joins the London-based company, which began operating from a food truck in 2012, having held positions at Byron and Nando's.

Liam O'Keefe, brand director, told The Caterer: "We have a few sites earmarked for growth next year and we have got Nicola in to start us on the right foot.

"We are still a small team so we're focused on our current sites and will add where we can organically, we have not taken any investment."

O'Keefe confirmed the business would be looking at sites in London. He added: "We do not have huge plans. We don't think there are many ‘best ofs' across many sites, we are trying to be the best burger across multiple sites but we will be limited to the farms and butchers and preserving that quality."

Bleecker has sites in Spitalfields, Victoria and Bloomberg, as well as a summer pop-up site on the South Bank.
