North West restaurant group Marco Marco raises £3.5m to fund national expansion
Italian restaurant group Marco Marco has raised £3.5m of investment and plans to grow to 20 sites across the UK in the next two years.
The company, which was founded by Stephen Garrity and currently runs four outlets in Cheshire, has secured the funding from corporate advisory firm Niton Partners.
The investment will see the company open three more sites within the coming months and grow to at least 20 restaurants around the UK by 2014.
Garrity said: "We are an ambitious restaurant group with a great deal of potential, but to succeed we have to listen to our customers and deliver a first class product. We have started to make a significant impact in the North West region and to replicate this nationally we must ensure we capitalise on all exciting growth opportunities that are open to us. This investment has allowed us to earmark a number of future sites."
Garrity launched the Est Est Est Italian restaurant group and went on to be a director of the Restaurant Group, which operates brands including Frankie and Bennys and Chiquitos.
