Openings: Her Majesty's Secret Service

Openings: Her Majesty's Secret Service

A new cocktail bar and ‘punch house' named Her Majesty's Secret Service (HMSS) has opened in Bristol.

The new venture comes from the team behind London cocktail bar and consultancy group the Cocktail Trading Co. It is on Whiteladies Road, next to Clifton Down station and serves a wide range of cocktails within an environment aiming to be relaxed, luxurious, and creative. There are also punches and non-alcoholic ‘faux-tails' available, alongside tastings, masterclasses, and cocktail events.

The design has been described by the founders as having a mixture of influences; industrial, gin palace, espionage, and regal drinking parlour. It is inspired by the type of place in which ‘James Bond would hide from his associates'.

Opened 24 July
Capacity 80
Operator Cocktail Trading Co
Typical drinks HMSS Old Fashioned; the Delicious Sour (Calvados, peach wine, lemon, egg white); and the Daisy de Santiago (Bacardi Heritage rum, citrus sherbet, Chartreuse)
