Openings: RBW, Corby

The end of July saw the opening of RBW in Corby, Northamptonshire. The new venture, whose name stands for "Ribs Burgers Wings" is a spin-off from the Spur restaurant brand, which currently has seven UK sites.

Spur is the largest family dining brand in South Africa, and there are plans for more RBW sites in the UK. The Corby restaurant is part of a new cinema development in the centre of town, next to a Nando's and a Prezzo.

The design of the site, by Jones Architecture + Design, aims to incorporate an industrial/pop-up feel and features a bespoke graffiti wall sprayed on site, which includes icons of the local area. Huge oversized light fittings fill the massive ceiling space and the designers have used some low-cost materials, such as expanded metal mesh and sterling board, as cladding for the walls.
