Frankie & Benny's: pulled in £57.5m, with Chiquito

The division's 92 Frankie & Benny's and 24 Chiquito restaurants pulled in a combined turnover of £57.5m in the six months to 30 June, representing a 26% rise in operating profit to £11.1m.

Hungry travellers also boosted profits with the group's airport concessions seeing like-for-like sales rise almost 8% to £21.1m.

The company's high-street outlets, which include Garfunkel's, Caffé Uno and Est Est Est, fared less well but reaped the benefits of cost cuts and posted a 10% rise in profit.

Overall turnover for the group, which failed in its bid to buy Ask Central earlier this year, jumped from £108m to £118m and like-for-like sales rose by 3.7%.
