Peter Mills and Gary Scott join Marco Pierre White's new Liverpool restaurant

Peter Mills (right) and Gary Scott (left) have been appointed head chef and restaurant manager respectively at Marco Pierre White's new Liverpool restaurant, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill, which is scheduled to open in June as part of Sanguine Hospitality's new £15m Hotel Indigo development.

Bromborough-born Mills has almost 40 years' experience, including four years as head chef at the Devon Doorway in Heswall. He has worked at venues across the UK and abroad, winning AA rosettes at Wood Norton in Evesham and Stanneylands in Wilmslow, in addition to a four-year spell in Saudi Arabia.

Scott joins after nearly 10 years with regional restaurant group Heathcotes where he was responsible for the successful launch of several venues in Manchester, Preston and Liverpool, before being appointed the group's executive operations manager. He also spent three years as restaurant manager at Selfridge's in the Trafford Centre.
