Pizza Pilgrims to open in Shoreditch

Pizza Pilgrims is set to open a permanent site on Shoreditch High Street in London in early March, as well as two further sites in West India Quay and Waterloo later this year.

Pizza Pilgrims Shoreditch will be the first Bring Your Own Booze site and the brand is partnering with a nearby off-licence to offer a branded fridge full of Italian wines and British and Italian craft beers.

Pizza Pilgrims started in a street van and opened its first permanent site in 2013 on Dean Street. It specialises in authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas made with Fior Di Latte cow's milk mozzarella from Caserta, Neapolitan flour and toppings such as n'duja sausage, and Portobello mushroom and truffle. Thom and James Elliot started Pizza Pilgrims in a travelling van at Berwick Street Market in 2011, after road tripping around southern Italy.

The Shoreditch site interior will follow the brand's classic style, with green and white-checked tablecloths, fuÁŸball tables and arcade games. 'Pizza box art' will adorn the walls and guests are invited to contribute their own.
