PizzaExpress creates 2,500 new jobs across UK
PizzaExpress has announced the recruitment of 2,500 people in the UK over the next five years as part of its plan to open around 20 new restaurants a year.
The group, which currently has 448 outlets nationwide, also outlined plans to grow its apprenticeship scheme with the aim of having at least one apprentice in each of its restaurants.
Since the launch of its 12-month apprenticeship scheme in 2013, PizzaExpress has recruited 377 young people.
The 2,500 new positions will involve with jobs at all levels, from entry level to management.
Richard Hodgson, chief executive of PizaExpress, said the company has a responsibility to invest in the future of the sector. "This means investing in people, creating new opportunities and giving our teams a reason to feel good about what they do, and the valuable contribution they make."
PizzaExpress, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, currently employs 10,000 people in the UK.
