Plans submitted for £2m Ivy Brasserie in Glasgow

Plans have been submitted to open an Ivy Brasserie in Glasgow at a site currently occupied by Nationwide Building Society.

The new restaurant at 106 Buchanan Street would be the brand's second Scottish site, with the Ivy on the Square set to open in Edinburgh early autumn this year.

The plans, submitted by property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton to Glasgow City Council, detail a £2m investment to transform the site into a ground floor bar and restaurant and first floor restaurant with a total of 180 covers, with a further 24 covers outdoors.

The Ivy Collection is a group of 13 restaurants, brasseries and cafés, originating with the Ivy on West Street in London 100 years ago, which is operated separately.

The collection offers accessible, all-day dining in a relaxed, local setting, and as well as sites in London, Bristol and Surrey, is set to open in Bath, York, Guildford, Cheltenham and Harrogate later this year, with a total of 30 sites anticipated to be open by the end of 2018.
