Plot restaurant to open in Tooting Broadway Market, south London

Mark Kimber and Harry Smith are to open their first restaurant, Plot, in Tooting Broadway Market, south London, on 11 January.

The 15-cover restaurant will serve small plates from a menu created by head chef Giles Elstob. Dishes include chicken and smoked ham hock terrine with cider and honey mustard, roast cod with curried tartare sauce and scraps, braised beef cheek with pickled red cabbage and crispy onion and charred Hispi cabbage with brown butter and hazelnuts.

The drinks list will include craft beers, cocktails and wines from around the world.

Kimber said: "The food offering in Tooting has been on the up for a while now, and we're really excited to be joining that movement, especially as the area holds so many memories for us, growing up just down the road."

Smith added: "Opening in the market is the perfect fit for us - a relaxed, community space to celebrate the best ingredients Britain has to offer. We couldn't think of a better place for Plot to be starting off."

The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday.
