Pod announces expansion plans for 2015
Healthy quick-service group Pod has announced an expansion drive into 2015.
This will focus mainly on taking the 23-strong group outside of its current London Square Mile locations, and will also form part of a general modernisation for the brand's existing sites, menus and ranges.
Founded in 2005, the company has seen double-digit like for like growth since the beginning of 2014. The brainchild of head chef Emma Blackmore, Pod's menu changes seasonally, and includes hand-blended drinks with raw vegetables and fruit, yoghurts with varied toppings, gluten-free porridge, to-go scrambled eggs, wholegrain salads, and meat dishes.
The company recently announced a partnership across three central London Starbucks sites, in which a specially developed food selection will be sold alongside the coffee chain's usual offer.
Marketing director Meg Ellis said: "We are seeing success across the business and our menu developments continue to be met with enthusiasm from our customers."
Pod was founded in 2005 by Tim Hall, who aimed to make it easier for busy city workers to eat healthier food for breakfast and lunch.
