Prezzo is to open 16 new restaurants in the run up to Christmas

Prezzo is investing more than £8m in opening 16 new restaurants before the end of the year.

The launch of 10 Prezzo Italian restaurants, three Chimichanga Mexican outlets and three Cleaver sites, specialising in burgers, ribs and chicken, will create more than 300 jobs.

The new restaurants, in sites which include Ripon, Preston, Birmingham, Oxford, Gloucester and Trowbridge, wiill bring the number of restaurants within the group to 239.

Prezzo chief executive Jonathan Kaye, said: "We are pleased to be opening 16 new restaurants between now and Christmas. Many of the restaurants will be opening in towns where we are not yet represented. We are looking forward to further expansion throughout 2014 and beyond."
