Provencal restaurant La Rive to open in Cobham, Surrey
Provençal-style restaurant La Rive is to open in Cobham, Surrey on 17 September.
From director Simon Rand and head chef Eric Payet, the site will have 134 interior covers across three different restaurant areas, including 24 in the gallery, 60 in the dining room, and
44 in the conservatory. There will also be 40 seats in a heated space outside.
On the former site of La Capanna, it will be the second restaurant from the team, which also operates the Hare Bar and Grill in Lingfield.
Typical dishes will include rabbit and black pudding coulibiac with mustard mousseline and breakfast radish; Provençal beef tartare, parmesan meringue and confit hen yolk; poached fillet of red mullet in saffron, squid ink bow pasta and vegetables confetti; honey-glazed pork belly on the bone, braised endive and chantenay carrots; and half roasted guinea fowl, sweet corn with Parisian gnocchi and radicchio.
There will also be a selection of grilled meats and seafood, and desserts such as baked lemon tart, blackcurrant and tamarillos sorbet; and vanilla panna cotta, ginger crumble and plum compote with red wine sorbet.
The interior has been designed by Harriet Forde to create an elegant and warm space, focusing on brick, wood, and stone, in shades of taupe, deep red, grey, white and aubergine.
There will be a fireplace in the conservatory area, along with antique mirrors.
Head chef Payet has previously worked with a host of top chefs and restaurants, including Anthony Demetre, Arbutus and Wild Honey, as well as Club Gascon and Clos Maggiore, before launching the Hare Bar and Grill in late 2014 with director Simon Rand.
