Raithwaite Estate opens new Hunters Restaurant championing Yorkshire produce
A restaurant championing Yorkshire produce has opened on the Raithwaite Estate near Whitby.
Located in The Keep building at the heart of the famous estate, Hunters restaurant offers nostalgic British food for lunch, inspired by the local surroundings.
Incorporating fish and seafood from nearby fishing villages, Ripon-reared meat and homemade bread, the menu includes dishes such as crayfish & prawn cocktail, chicken breast with creamed potato and thyme velouté, and strawberry and lavender parfait. With a glass ceiling, modern slate floor and soft carpets, the space has undergone a contemporary redesign in line with the 2011 renovation and re-opening of the retreat itself.
Once a 19th century country house, the three main estate buildings now form a 73-room hotel, with individual cottages nearby. There is also a pool, spa, sauna and fitness suite.
Hunters restaurant is one of four bars and restaurants on the estate, which also includes The Brace restaurant and Poachers bar.
