Recruitment director wins meal at Michelin-starred Foliage

Earlier this month, Caterer teamed up with London's Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park to offer one of our readers the fantastic prize of a meal for two at the Michelin-starred Foliage restaurant.

We are delighted to announce the winner of the competition: Ian Dempsey, director at hospitality recruitment firm Dempsey Lucas, who was picked at random.

Dempsey told Caterersearch he was "really surprised" and thrilled to have won the competition.

"I've not been to the restaurant before so I'm really excited to have won," he said. "It's a great start to the New Year."

Dempsey's prize includes a four-course meal for him and a guest at Foliage, which will include sommelier-selected wine pairings.

Head chef Chris Staines, who has been at the helm of Foliage for six years, serves a modern British menu.

Dishes that Dempsey will be able to sample include scallops with orzo, almonds and squid ink; venison with artichokes, sprouts and chocolate sauce; and banana soufflé with hazelnut, sea salt caramel and milk sorbet.
